Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila has assured residents that the city will remain peaceful and secure as CCM Presidential candidate and incumbent President, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, begins her three-day campaign tour from October 21 to 23, 2025.

Speaking ahead of the rallies, Chalamila said security preparations have been intensified to ensure a calm and orderly environment as the country heads toward the October 29 General Election.

“Dar es Salaam is safe and will continue to be safe before, during, and after the elections. Citizens should come out in large numbers to participate freely in all campaign and voting activities,” he said.

President Samia is scheduled to address residents at three major venues Leaders Club in Kinondoni, TANESCO grounds in Temeke, and Kinyerezi grounds in Ilala District where she will share her vision and priorities for Tanzania’s next phase of growth.

Chalamila encouraged residents to turn up in large numbers, describing the visit as an opportunity for citizens to directly engage with the CCM candidate and hear about government achievements and future plans.

Beyond the campaign, the Regional Commissioner highlighted progress in addressing key urban challenges such as water, electricity, transport, and flood management.

He said the government is implementing sustainable water solutions, including the installation of new pumping machines and the completion of the Kidunda Dam, which will provide a lasting remedy to water shortages in the city.

On energy, Chalamila noted that electricity supply has improved significantly, reflecting the government’s ongoing investment in infrastructure.

He added that efforts to reduce flood risks continue through the construction of key bridges at Jangwani, Kigogo, and Mkwajuni, as well as Geti Jeusi and Nguva in Kigamboni.

Chalamila also praised the progress made in improving the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, which is being enhanced through partnerships with the private sector.

He said strict measures have been taken to protect the integrity of the system, including banning commuter minibuses, tricycles, and motorcycles from using BRT lanes.

“The BRT is a modern transport solution designed to serve residents efficiently. We must preserve its purpose to ensure fast and reliable travel across the city,” he said.

President Samia’s visit to Dar es Salaam marks one of the key highlights of her nationwide campaign trail, where she is expected to emphasize her administration’s achievements in infrastructure, social welfare, and economic transformation under the CCM government.
