Newly appointed Executive Director of Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH), Dr Delilah Kimambo, today made her first official visit to the Mloganzila campus since her appointment by President Samia Suluhu Hassan earlier this month.

During the visit, Dr Kimambo held a strategic meeting with the hospital's leadership, where she commended the team for its ongoing efforts in strengthening specialised and super-specialised services, improving healthcare infrastructure, and maintaining a high level of professionalism among staff.

“I commend the leadership for its commitment to excellence. The improvements in both service delivery and infrastructure are commendable and reflect the hospital’s strategic role in advancing specialised healthcare in the country,” she said.

She added that the government’s heavy investment in the hospital infrastructure and medical technologies calls for an equally strong commitment to efficient, affordable, and patient-centred service delivery.

After the meeting, Dr Kimambo toured several departments and interacted with patients and their families. She said the feedback from patients was largely positive, affirming that the services provided are meeting expectations. However, she called on staff to remain focused on delivering quality healthcare.

“We must continue to uphold service standards. Our patients trust us, and we owe it to them to ensure that their experience at this hospital reflects the government’s vision for accessible and reliable healthcare,” she noted.

She further emphasised the importance of accountability, discipline, and ethical conduct among all hospital staff, adding that public confidence in Muhimbili’s services is built on the integrity and professionalism of its workforce.

Dr Kimambo’s visit to Mloganzila marks the beginning of her leadership engagement with key units under MNH. Her appointment, announced on June 16, 2025, by President Samia, comes at a time when the hospital is expanding its role in delivering tertiary care and supporting medical research and training in Tanzania.
