Young Africans (Yanga) have booked their place in the Round of 32 of this season’s CRDB Federation Cup with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Copco.
The match was played yesterday at the KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The scoring began in the 35th minute when Shekhan Ibrahim found the back of the net, giving Yanga a 1-0 lead that they carried into halftime.
Yanga came back stronger in the second half. Prince Dube doubled the lead in the 57th minute with a well-taken goal. Maxi Nzengeli added a third in the 68th minute, converting from the penalty spot.
Duke Abuya made it 4-0 in the 77th minute, and Mdathir Yahya sealed the commanding win with a fifth goal in the 84th minute.
The victory capped off a dominant performance by Yanga, securing their spot in the next stage of the tournament with a confident 5-0 result.
