The Rural Energy Agency
(REA) will participate in the third edition of the Samia KILIMO Business Expo
2024, set to take place on October 6, 2024, in Gairo District, Morogoro Region.
During a recent
meeting, the Director of Alternative Technologies and Renewable Energy, Ms.
Advera Mwijage, highlighted that the expo would provide a platform for citizens
to engage in discussions about the use of clean energy and carbon business
opportunities. The Ministry of Energy, through REA, plans to distribute gas
cylinders and efficient cooking stoves to residents.
Gairo District
Commissioner, Hon. Jabri Makame, emphasized that attendees will witness
significant environmental conservation advancements through the Clean Cooking
Energy Strategy, championed by the President of the United Republic of
Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
He noted that Gairo is
implementing a Green Legacy campaign aimed at addressing climate change
challenges that impact the agriculture and livestock sectors.
The event will feature
various stakeholders, including environmental organizations, gas companies, and
alternative charcoal producers such as STAMICO, the Vice President’s Office,
and the Ministry of Energy. The expo will unite all parties involved in the
value chain of the Environment, Livestock, and Agriculture sectors.
